Godman Akinlabi is the founder, chair, and visionary behind the PISTIS Foundation, a non-profit social intervention enterprise, established to be a model provider of empowerment opportunities for the economically challenged, with a key focus on education, health, and shelter initiatives.
Apart from providing full educational scholarships to 105 underserved children and hosting periodic medical and surgical outreaches, which have provided free quality healthcare to over 16,000 beneficiaries within the last five years. The Foundation also caters to the educational requirements as well as feeding, clothing, and the total well-being of select street kids through its fully-equipped shelter facility, in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, the Foundation launched a Food Bank and Medical Intervention program that provided free food packs to about 6,000 families in over 20 local government areas across Lagos, Nigeria. Till 2022, the Food Bank programme provided food bags to over 10,000 families and continues this drive to mitigate the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
His passion to impact lives and transform society positively has also led him to initiate and drive other social intervention programmes, including the rehabilitation and welfare of prison inmates through facility renovations, provision of basic supplies/amenities, and the establishment of a scholarship fund for educating prison inmates. Some of these initiatives have, over time, attracted the positive attention of regulatory authorities and government parastatals, earning him awards and recognition in the education space and prisons sector, among others.
